Originally from Iowa, Verna has lived in New England since 1975 and moved to the Boston Metrowest area in 2006.

She is one of the original members of BlueSkies Studios and paints primarily in acrylics.

Besides her role as a painter, Verna is a docent at the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham, MA.
